No. 2 Plant occupies the fourth and fifth basement floors of Queen’s Square YOKOHAMA, where it began operation in July 1997. Double-utility absorption chillers and the world’s largest electric centrifugal chiller deliver high capacity and efficient equipment operation.
High-efficiency electric centrifugal chiller
As office buildings and residential towers multiplied, the district needed increased capacity. In response, MM21 DHC installed a 5,400 RT electric centrifugal chiller. The machine adopts CFC substitutes so as not to damage the ozone layer and vastly improves energy efficiency. The new equipment also reduces CO2 emissions by 13% over previous devices.
- In a year’s operation, this this electric centrifugal chiller reduces CO2 emissions by 1,350 t, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.
